‡ Introduction

In many countries, Teachers' Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers, and may include celebrations to honor them for their special contributions in a particular field area, or the community in general. The date on which Teachers' Day is celebrated varies from country to country. Teachers' days in different countries are distinct from World Teachers' Day, which is celebrated on 5 October.

Introduction

10 September is an official holiday in China. This day the whole country fetes educators and teachers. This holiday, in its different interpretations, has been existed in China as early as the Middle Ages. Teachers and coaches have always been honored and respected in China. Very often teachers acted as mentors throughout the whole life.

The modern holiday was awarded a national status on January 21, 1985. The urgent need in this holiday in China was caused by the fact that the “cultural revolution” in China cut the number of intellectual workers – teachers, in particular. Since then, on 10 September, the festive events in honor of the specialists of educational sphere are held throughout China every year.

9月10日是中国的法定假日。这一天，全国人民祝福教育工作者。这个节日，以其不同的形式，早在中世纪在中国已存在。在中国，教师和教练几千年来备受尊重。很多时候教师是贯穿学生整个人生的导师。

1985年1月21日，教师节成为国家法定节日。，教师节的建立迫在眉睫。此后，9月10日，教师节每年在中国各地隆重举办。
