北京地铁五折优惠/Beijing Subway Cuts Ticket Fares for Early Commuters

北京地铁运营公司正式实施，早上七点前在指定站点进站，即可享受半价地铁票。

The Beijing Subway Company began discounting tickets by 50 percent for commuters who board before 7 am on January 1.

此目的是为了缓解早高峰地铁的压力。

The subway said its new policy was intended to incentivize passengers to board early to relieve pressure during the morning commute.

但是尽管如此，不少乘客并不知情，加上元旦陆续有乘客离京，优惠政策实施首日客流变化并不明显。

However, it has been difficult to gauge how many passengers are choosing to take advantage of the price cut, as many people who work in Beijing have already returned home in advance of the New Year holiday.

客流量方面，褡裢坡和黄渠的进站量与上周相当。青年路和常营站7点前进站的客流有了增加。

In terms of passengers, the Talianpo and Huangqu stations on Line 6 both retained the same passenger flow as in past weeks. The Qingnianlu and Changying stations slowly increased a bit before 7am.

5点至7点时段，去年12月27日青年路站进站量为2142人，昨天的进站量为2153人；常营站去年12月27日进站量为2003人，昨天为2179人。

Between 5-7 am, a total of 2,153 passengers boarded the train during – an increase of 11 people in one week. Changying station had larger increase of 176 passengers.

地铁六号线从7点半就开始限流，有时候更早一些，到8点就达到了客流尖峰时刻。

Subway Line 6 is one of the most congested lines during the morning rush, reaching maximum capacity at 8 am.

地铁6号线常营站区副站区长李雯介绍，“工作日每天都需要使用加长的栅栏进行限流，在尖峰时刻，不但需要导流围栏，还得分批放行。根据客流情况进行放行……”

“On business days, we need to put up fencesto control the flow of bodies. When it reaches the peak, we rely on fences andbegin separating passengers in sections,” said Li Wen, deputy director incharge of Changying Station on Line 6.

李雯表示，这些车站有不少乘客在7点左右进站，如果7点前进站能节省一半钱，肯定有不少乘客提前几分钟进站，这就能将客流压力分解出来一部分。

“We expect many people will board early if they know they can save half off their fare before 7 am. That will relieve some pressure on the morning rush,” Li said.

优惠期间将会从2016年12月31日至2017年12月31日，优惠车站分布在八通线土桥、临河里、梨园、九棵树、果园、通州北苑、八里桥、管庄、双桥、传媒大学、高碑店11座车站，昌平线南邵、沙河高教园、沙河、巩华城、朱辛庄5座车站，6号线北运河西、通州北关、物资学院路、草房、常营、黄渠、褡裢坡、青年路8座车站。

The 50 percent price cut will remain in effect through December 31 for select stations on Line 6 and the Batong and Changping lines.
